Fees, Tolls, and Other Expenses

Fees, Tolls, and Other Expenses

We provide charter services within British Columbia & Alberta, as well we can arrange travel to to Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, & California States.  Summary of additional expenses that you need to consider when arranging a bus charter:
  1. Driver’s Single Room Accommodation

It is important, when chartering a coach on a multiday basis, the group provides a single room for the driver at the same hotel property that the group is staying at.  The group will ensure that the driver has as many hours available to the group.

If the group is camping, hostelling, or staying at a 5 star hotel property, please consult with your customer service representative about organizing an alternate hotel.

  2. Driver’s Meals

Our daily charter rates include a provision for a driver’s daily meal allowances. However if you are enjoying the company of the driver, and wish to include him/her in a group meal, please feel free to personally invite the driver.

  3. Canadian & USA National Parks

When planning to visit a National Park in USA or Canada, please make sure you verify the appropriate fees, bus parking, and/or individual entry fees.  When submitting an itinerary, we will verify the individual costs of the parks you intend to visit.

  4. Highway Tolls, & Bridge Tolls

When traveling a highway or bridge, and you should come upon a toll booth, the costs of the toll booths are generally not included in the charter costs, unless a client has specifically indicated which highways/roads they wish to travel. Our driver’s will ask the group leader for assistance when approaching a toll booth.

When traveling the Golden Ears Bridge from Maple Ridge, BC to Langley, BC, the bridge toll is $7.50. The Port Mann Bridge toll, Between Surrey BC, and Coquitlam BC, is $9.00. Taxes not included.

  5. Ferry Tolls

When traveling to Vancouver Island by motor coach, you will need to plan on the additional cost of Ferry Transportation between Vancouver & Victoria. The ferries that serve Vancouver Island are BC Ferries, Washington State Ferries, and Blackball Ferry.

  6. Admissions to Attractions & Group Meals

Any individual charges for attractions and passenger meals, are not included in our rate structures. For attractions in Vancouver, Victoria, and Whistler, we can easily arrange to have the group pre-admitted. Although for the most part, since our services are supplied to tour operators and travel companies, we normally ask that these arrangements be made directly.

  7. Gratuities

Our services do not include any gratuities for our drivers, we encourage that the groups and passengers thank the driver personally, if they feel that the driver’s performance exceeded your expectations, that he was friendly, and courteous to the passengers, and that he accommodated the wishes of the group.

  8. Driver Narration & Local Guide Services

We recommend that a step-on guide be contracted to perform a local city tour, day trip, or on a overland journey through the Canadian Rocky Mountains. A driver is able to provide friendly conversation, anecdotal highlights, a few jokes, and some history of the area the group is travelling. We know Vancouver, Victoria, and Whistler well, and for other cities our driver’s will prepare themselves based on the client’s itinerary.

A driver’s first responsibility, is to the road, he has to ensure he is operating the coach safely. Weather and traffic, may pull a driver’s attention away from the commentary.

A local guide, is facing the audience, describing the sites, and fielding questions as they arise. It is recommended to use local guides in different cities, as this will add local flavor to the story telling of the area. Tourism is built upon the foundation of individuals taking pride in their home towns.

  9. Concierge Services

We can assist organizations and groups with arranging box lunches, sedan transfers, school bus services, local guides, bus wraps, decals, signage, bus parking zones… When traveling in the Pacific Northwest, if you need any help with arranging a service to help support the tour or travel program, we will assist.
